Search for a Case

Search for cases, business licenses, and cases with related items.

PREREQUISITES:

  • As of 15.8 and newer, your PLL administrator must enable the View function for the security role you belong to in order to search for PLL cases in Office. See Security Roles in the PLL Admin for 15.8 Guide for more information.

Complete one of the following options:

Users can search any information added to a case including tasks, payments, violations, people, conditions, contractors, and GIS information.

  1. Open the search form.
  2. On the General tab, enter the search criteria.

NOTE: You can search for cases by entering search criteria in the General section, the Business License section, and/or the Cases with Related Items section. See Search for Cases with Configured Map Layers to search for cases with configured map layers.

NOTE: If you want to search for related items, such as linked cases, work orders, or service requests, those must be attached to a case. See Link to Existing Cases, Create a Related Work Order, and Create a Related Service Request for more information.

  1. Select which fields you want visible in the Visible Fields in Search Results section. In 15.2, Case ID was replaced with Child Case ID and Parent Case ID.

NOTE: Select the check box to the right of the other "Visible in Search Results" to activate additional fields.

  1. Once you have entered your search criteria, click Search.

NOTE: As of 15.8.2 and newer, the following search fields will filter based on the organization you are currently using: Type, Subtype, Task Code, Department Code, Division Code, Result Code, Result Display, Hearing Type, Discipline Code, Fee Code, Deposit Code, Tender Type, Violation Type, Role Code, Condition Code, and Contractor Type. See Change PLL Organization for more information about switching between multiple organizations.

Use Case Utility to find an existing case or a group of cases to update them. Depending on the option chosen, the case(s) may be renumbered; the type, subtype, or case status may be changed; the parent/child relationships and associated case data may be removed; or cases and associated case data may be deleted.
